Family Education

“A Jewish home is where Judaism is at home.” – Abraham Joshua Heschel

Family Education at SHJC provides families and individuals the opportunity to celebrate the joys of Judaism in a communal setting, as well integrating ritual, practice and values into their home lives.

Congregational activities include celebrating Sukkot with “Pizza in the Hut”; and family celebrations of Havdallah, TuB’Shevat, Yom HaShoah, and Lag B’Omer. Parenting/book discussion groups explore parenting skills and issues through a Jewish perspectives.

SHJC is proud to be a participant in the nation-wide initiative (PJ Library) to provide Jewish books to children ages 6 months to 8 years.
